ALSA-NG LEGAL PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR (STUDENT CATEGORY) – DECEMBER EDITION
The African Law Students’ Association is delighted to recognize Miss Nafisat Raji as the ALSA-NG Legal Personality of the Year (Student Category) for December 2024. Nafisat’s achievements exemplify the highest standards of dedication, intellect, and innovation in the field of law.
Nafisat Raji is a trailblazer in the legal realm, with profound expertise in law, conflict resolution, taxation, finance, and writing. As a law student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, her academic and extracurricular journey is nothing short of extraordinary. She has mastered the art of balancing rigorous legal studies with an impressive array of leadership and professional roles, establishing herself as a powerhouse of talent and ambition.
Currently serving as the Executive President of the National ADR Society of Nigeria (NADRS), Nafisat has redefined what it means to be a leader in alternative dispute resolution. Since March 2024, she has spearheaded numerous impactful initiatives, demonstrating her exceptional ability to manage complex projects and implement transformative policies. She had previously served the NADRS as Director of Project Programmes and Policies for NADRS, a role she has held since May 2022, where she displayed her deep commitment to fostering effective conflict resolution strategies and advancing ADR practices across Nigeria.
In addition to her remarkable work with NADRS, Nafisat has held pivotal roles in other esteemed organizations. As the Deputy Chairperson of the LAWSAN Entrepreneurial Association, she has been a driving force behind innovative initiatives that nurture entrepreneurial skills among law students. Her tenure as Secretary General of the Realist Chamber at ABU Zaria reflects her exemplary organizational acumen and her dedication to fostering a culture of excellence within the student community. Moreover, as the Assistant Head of Research at The Tax Club, Ahmadu Bello University, Nafisat has made invaluable contributions to advancing research on taxation and finance, solidifying her reputation as a meticulous and forward-thinking scholar.
Her leadership extends to her role as a Directorate of Project at FALAS Nigeria, where she has been a cornerstone of impactful programming for nearly four years. Her ability to design and execute large-scale initiatives with precision and purpose has earned her widespread acclaim within and beyond the legal community.
Nafisat’s achievements are complemented by her academic prowess and her unwavering drive for excellence. Currently pursuing her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at Ahmadu Bello University, she combines her love for learning with an unrelenting desire to create meaningful change. Her ability to bridge the gap between theory and practice is evident in her extensive research work, which showcases her exceptional analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
As an expert in alternative dispute resolution and entrepreneurial organizations, Nafisat’s impact resonates across multiple sectors.
