As a first-class law graduate from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), his academic journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to success. In a class of over 350 students, Olayinka soared to the top, finishing among the top five—a remarkable achievement that sets him apart as one of Nigeria's brightest legal minds. His insatiable curiosity and passion for Corporate/Commercial Law, with a focus on Tax, Energy, and Corporate Finance, have driven him to pursue nothing short of mastery in these fields.



Olayinka’s résumé reads like a catalog of triumphs. He has interned at Nigeria's most prestigious tier-one law firms—Banwo & Ighodalo, Olaniwun Ajayi, Aelex, and G. Elias—gaining exposure to high-stakes legal work that has sharpened his expertise in corporate law. These formative experiences have solidified his place as a rising star in Nigeria’s legal landscape, demonstrating his readiness to tackle the complexities of law at the highest levels.

Not content with excelling in internships alone, Olayinka is also an award-winning essayist and prolific writer. His intellectual contributions to platforms like SSRN, Borg. Research, and ResearchGate speak to his depth of knowledge and analytical skill. In 2021, Olayinka’s brilliance shone through when he clinched the top prize in the maiden edition of the DealHQ Partners Law Undergraduate Essay Competition, beating out a field of fierce competitors. The following year, he added to his accolades by securing the 2nd runner-up position in the National Energy Law Essay Competition, sponsored by Wola Joseph, and the 3rd runner-up position in the Norrison I. Quakers National Legal Writing Tourney. These accolades not only highlight his prowess in legal writing but also his ability to consistently perform at the highest levels of intellectual rigor.

Olayinka’s accomplishments extend beyond writing and legal research; he is a natural leader and skilled orator who has repeatedly excelled on national and international platforms. In 2023, he led his team to victory at the 13th International Humanitarian Law Competition for Nigerian Universities, organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). This monumental win qualified him and his teammates to represent Nigeria at the African rounds in Nairobi, Kenya—a testament to his exceptional leadership and advocacy skills. Additionally, at the 32nd Chrisof Heyns African Human Rights Moot Court Competition in Kumasi, Ghana, Olayinka showcased his formidable legal acumen, securing an impressive rating of 72.3%, further cementing his status as a legal prodigy.

His speaking accolades don't stop there. In 2022, he was part of the team that emerged as 1st runner-up in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Nigeria Ethics Challenge, a competition that tests the sharpest minds in finance and ethics. He has also left an indelible mark on other prestigious platforms, including the Law x Technology Subproject Competition, The Tax Club Unilorin Think Tank Contest, and the National Tax Debate 7.0. Olayinka’s brilliance, eloquence, and ability to think on his feet have made him a household name in the legal community, inspiring admiration from peers and mentors alike.

As a master of ceremonies and event host, Olayinka’s influence reaches beyond the classroom and competition hall. He has proudly anchored three consecutive editions of Tax180, the largest student-organized tax conference in Nigeria. His ability to command attention, articulate ideas, and foster engagement has made him a sought-after MC, reflecting his versatility and leadership. His dedication to mentorship and service shines through his work helping students and professionals perfect their CVs and cover letters, further underscoring his commitment to empowering others.

Olayinka’s leadership within The Tax Club OAU is equally impressive. As Director of Research I and Public Relations Officer, he left a lasting legacy, driving initiatives that elevated the club’s influence and impact. His leadership style is defined by a rare combination of empathy, strategic thinking, and an unrelenting drive for excellence.
