ADDRESS BY THE ALSA-NG NATIONAL PRESIDENT IN THE JUNE NEWSFILE

As the National President of ALSA-NG, it is my honour to address you in this June edition of the NEWSLETTER, sharing our progress and achievements that have contributed to the continuous growth of our esteemed association all through the Month of May and the early days of June. Over the past few weeks, ALSA-NG has been relentless in its pursuit of making a difference and fostering a sense of community among law students in Nigeria. Let me take you on a journey of our accomplishments and on-going initiatives that have brought us closer to our collective aspirations.

GARKI SECONDARY SCHOOL SENSITISATION PROGRAM: In collaboration with the West African Law Students’ Association (Nigeria Directorate), ALSA-NG successfully organized a sensitization program at Junior Secondary School Garki, focusing on bullying and human rights. This event enabled us to engage with students, educators, and community members, empowering them with the knowledge and tools to combat bullying and promote human rights in their respective spheres of influence.

MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY OUTREACH IN KANO: ALSA-NG marked Menstrual Day by organizing an outreach program in Kano, where we educated young girls about menstrual hygiene and distributed sanitary products. This initiative has not only improved the quality of life for these girls but has also contributed to breaking down the stigma surrounding menstruation.

ALSA-NG BLOG LAUNCH: To foster better communication and engage with our members, we launched the ALSA-NG BLOG – an online platform that showcases our activities, initiatives, and accomplishments. This blog serves as a hub for sharing ideas, experiences, and knowledge, strengthening our community and promoting the values that ALSA-NG represents.

NBA HANGOUT: In an effort to build strong relationships and foster collaboration, ALSA-NG participated in a Nigerian Bar Association hangout, where I had the privilege to meet Mazi Afam Osigwe, an NBA Presidential Aspirant, among other notable and respected legal juggernauts in the legal industry. This event provided us with a platform to network, learn from legal professionals, and explore opportunities for collaboration that will contribute to the growth and development of ALSA-NG.

As we continue our journey towards making ALSA-NG the epitome of excellence, I assure you that our commitment to growth, unity, and progress remains unwavering. We will continue to create and seize opportunities that empower our members, enhance their skills, and prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead in their legal careers.

Together, let us continue to support and encourage one another, as we forge a path that leads ALSA-NG to greater heights. With your continued dedication and commitment, I am confident that our aspirations will be realized, and ALSA-NG will be recognized as a premier association for law students in Nigeria and beyond.

Thank you for your relentless support and for being part of this incredible journey.

Best regards.

Amb. Shuaibu Bashir Mukaddam, GCOA.

National President, African Law Students Association Nigeria.
